James "Douglas" BRYANT Obituary

BRYANT, James "Douglas" Oct 22, 1950 - Nov 24, 2025 James Douglas Bryant, age 75, passed away on November 24, 2025, in Spokane Valley, Washington. He was born on October 22, 1950, in Fall River, Massachusetts, to James Allen Bryant and Flora Mello. During his years in California, Doug lived his Christian faith by serving as a lay preacher, sharing encouragement and spiritual guidance with inmates. Once he settled in Spokane, he found joy in golfing, spending time with friends, and enjoying the camaraderie of his cigar club - always carrying his Christian faith with him and sharing it naturally with those around him. Most of all, Doug cherished his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Dona Bryant, whose partnership with him was the foundation of a life filled with dedication, hard work, and love. Together they raised three children, Jason Bryant, Wesley Bryant, and Michelle Woodard. Doug relished his role as a grandfather to six grandchildren: Shawn, Madison, Nevaeh, Silas, Teagan, and Amber, each of whom brought him immense pride and joy. Doug was preceded in death by his father, James A. Bryant; his mother, Flora Bryant; and his brother, Mark A. Bryant. As a longtime business owner, he leaves behind a legacy of entrepreneurship, perseverance, and a life shaped by faith, family and service. A celebration of Doug's life will be held at a later date, with details to be announced once arrangements are finalized. The family invites friends and loved ones to share memories and condolences during this time of remembrance. Doug's life was marked by faith, family, hard work and a quiet strength that touched all who knew him. He believed deeply in treating others with kindness, and he carried a heartfelt desire for those around him to know the salvation found in the Lord. His legacy lives on in the values he lived by the example he set, and the lives he influenced throughout his 75 years. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. In honoring Doug's memory, the family encourages others to extend kindness, live with compassion and seek the salvation offered through Jesus Christ - truths he held close and shared with sincerity. "Whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father." Colossians 3:17
